Job summary We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a Physiotherapy Support Worker to join our large, dynamic physiotherapy team at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust.This is a full-time position ( hours per week), based at Worcestershire Royal Hospital, and will form part of our annual rotation scheme.Under the guidance and supervision of a qualified physiotherapist, and following appropriate training, the post holder will play a key role in assisting with the rehabilitation of patients with medical, surgical, and orthopaedic conditions.
The role focuses on helping patients regain mobility and function, facilitating their safe and timely discharge.We are looking for a candidate who can manage the demands of a busy and varied workload and has experience in moving and handling patients.The post holder will be required to work across 7 days in some specialties and participate in existing weekend rotas as part of the wider team.We are committed to the ongoing development of our staff, offering in-service training and a competency-based assessment programme to support your growth in the role.For a comprehensive list of duties, please refer to the attached job description.Right to Work in the UKPlease note that we are unable to provide UK Visa and Immigration (UKVI) sponsorship for this post.

To assist physiotherapists andsenior assistants to assess range of movement, muscle power, sensation, sittingand standing balance and transfer abilities.
Toassess and progress patients mobility which may include issuing, training andthe progression in using walking aids, under supervision of a qualifiedphysiotherapist.
Tomonitor patients during treatment and progress the treatment plan followingconsultation with a physiotherapist or senior assistant.
Todeliver specified treatments with empathy under the management of aphysiotherapist.
To prepare patients for treatment including undressing, removal ofsplints and toileting.
Tomaintain using accepted protocols accurate and contemporaneous treatmentrecords including valid consent appropriate to the intervention.
Toensure that patient confidentiality is maintained at all times.
Tobe aware of own limitation of knowledge in relationship to physiotherapy and torefer back to the supervising physiotherapist when appropriate.
Towork contracted hours over 7 days within specific specialities.
Toparticipate in the weekend service.
Thespeciality dependant on experience.
Thisservice may include the treatment of children.
To maintain accurate andcontemporaneous treatment records including valid consent to interventions.
To ensure that patientconfidentiality is maintained at all times.

Desirable Recent work experience in a therapy setting.
Qualifications Essential Five GCSEs (grades 9-4 or A*-C), or equivalent Level 2 qualifications, including Functional Skills (Level 2), or completion of a Level 2 apprenticeship, such as the Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship.
Desirable Previous relevant in-service training.
Skills and knowledge Essential Effective and appropriate written communication skills.
Effective and appropriate verbal and non verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in computer literacy.
Demonstrable personal qualities, such as responsibility, flexibility, and strong organisational skills.
A basic understanding of physiotherapy and other key therapy roles and occupations.
Awareness of Health and Safety regulations in the workplace.
Desirable Able to evidence effective team working.
