This is an excellent opportunity to develop skills and knowledge, in a supportive environment.The 6 month rotations are in the following clinical specialties, based over our 3 hospital sites and community setting.Outpatients/MSK including the gym, pool and RheumatologyRegional spinal injury unitRegional burns unitHands and plasticsTrauma / Orthopaedics / AmputeesPaedatricsNeurology including acute stroke ward and neuro rehabElderly complex care wardsRespiratory including ICU and Non-invasive ventilationSurgery/Haematolgy and cardiologyCommunity therapy, MY Therapy TeamA & E / acute assessment and frailty assessment areasIn-patients services work across 7 days and a flexible approach is required to meet the challenges in each speciality.
You would be assigned an experienced clinical practitioner for regular supervision and support as well as working within experienced and well established teams.
We offer preceptorship support throughout your first year of practice.The successful candidates will be expected to be part of the evening on-call respiratory service rota and ideally must be able to drive and have access to a vehicle.Candidates must be able to start work in Spring 2025 as there is an expectations of an immediate start date.

Main duties of the job To work as part of a team providing a highstandard of physiotherapy care across all sites to the local populations MidYorkshire Hospitals serve and regionally within our specialist centres.
To participate in the rotational scheme whichinvolves working across general out-patients, hands/plastics, orthopaedics,medical and surgical wards, specialist rehabilitation units, paediatrics, MYtherapy, critical care, stroke and neurology, respiratory services, spinalinjuries, burns and care of the elderly.

Job description Job responsibilities To perform physiotherapeutic assessment ofpatients with diverse presentations and some complex physical and psychologicalconditions, to provide a diagnosis and develop and deliver an individualisedtreatment programme.
To hold responsibility for own caseload and beresponsible for a defined area of the service or a particular patient type,working without direct supervision.
Supervision takes the form of regular formal training, clinicalreasoning sessions and case discussions.
Access to advice and support from senior physiotherapists is availableas required, clinical work is routinely evaluated in the first year.
To undertake all aspects of clinical duties asan autonomous practitioner.
To supervise assistants and technical instructors.
To write departmental and implement Trustwide/departmental policies, procedures and guidelines.
Or partake in feedback(depends on grade and role).
Maintain a professional appearance in line withthe Trust dress code.

Undertake a comprehensive assessment of patientsincluding those with diverse or complex presentations/multi pathologies; usinginvestigative and analytical skills with manual assessment techniques toprovide an accurate diagnosis of their condition.
Formulate and deliver an individualphysiotherapy treatment programme based on a graduate level of theory andtreatment options using clinical assessment, clinical reasoning skills andknowledge of treatment skills and relate them to assessment findings in bothsimple and complex cases.
Be able to select and apply a broad range ofmodalities efficiently and effectively and be able to justify the selection ofmodality of treatment as an autonomous practitioner.
Be aware of own level of clinical experience andrecognise when to access support from senior physiotherapists.
Take delegated responsibility from the moresenior physiotherapists for managing patients with particular conditions.
Formulate accurate prognoses and recommend bestcourse of intervention, developing comprehensive discharge plans.
Assess patient understanding of treatmentproposals, gain valid informed consent and have the capacity to work within alegal framework with patients who lack capacity to consent to treatment.
Use a range of verbal and non-verbalcommunication tools to communicate effectively with patients to progressrehabilitation and treatment programmes.
This will include patients with different cultural or language or whohave difficulties in understanding or communicating.
patients may be dysphasic, depressed,deaf, blind or who may be unable to accept diagnosis.
Demonstrate highly developed dexterity,co-ordination and palpatory senses, for the assessment and manual treatment ofpatients.
Evaluate patient progress, reassess and altertreatment programmes if required.
Provide specialist physiotherapy advice topatients and carers.
Manage clinical risk within own patient caseload.
Represent the physiotherapy service and /orindividual patients at the multi-disciplinary team meetings Be an active member of the respiratory emergencyevening on-call rota and weekend working rotas.
