We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.The shift pattern for this position is Monday – Friday 9am-5pm plus weekend working on a rota basis.
The Queen Elizabeth University Hospital is one of the largest acute hospitals in the UK and home to major specialist services such as renal medicine, transplantation and vascular surgery, with state-of-the-art Critical Care, Theatre and Diagnostic Services.
The Royal Hospital for Children is adjoined to the adult hospital and has paediatric and neonatal services.
This hospital provides a large number of specialist services to the West of Scotland and the wider population of Scotland, for some specialisms the children's hospital is recognised as the sole provider in Scotland.
This role is an exciting opportunity to become the Lead Technician for Production in an MHRA Specials licenced site.
The Royal Hospital for Children aseptic facility is the only NHS hospital pharmacy in Scotland with an MHRA specials manufacturing licence.
The post holder will:assume professional responsibility for the operational management of the production teamensuring adherence to principles of Good Manufacturing Practice, that scheduling and manufacture of unlicensed specials occurs in a safe and regulatory compliant environment.
You will provide specialist aseptic pharmaceutical production knowledge to ensure the safe, appropriate and cost effective provision of medicines and professional advice in line with current legislation and local and national policies.
You should have:National Certificate in Pharmaceutical Science orequivalent scientific qualification at degree level.
Professional registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC OR equivalent appropriate Professional registration and have several years post qualification experience within technical specialist practice and experience of staff management.

The post holder will work 5 days Monday to Friday and will be required to participate in weekend working, Public Holiday working and out of hours on call service.
