Pharmacy Dispenser/Senior Pharmacy Assistant (Band 3)

Job summary We are seeking an additional enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join our team in this exciting role.
The main focus of this band 3 role will be to work in the pharmacy dispensary, but will also involve working in the pharmacy aseptics unit, procurement, distribution as well as invoice processing.
We are also looking to develop this role to include undertaking pharmacy work on the wards.You should have an NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy Services, or a recognised equivalent and experience in pharmacy is essential.
Without this qualification, we would consider you for a Band 2 role.We would welcome applications from individuals working in community pharmacy who would like to start a career in hospital pharmacy, with training provided.Meeting the needs of our service users is extremely important to us, and we are looking for an individual who shares our vision to deliver a high quality, service-user focused approach.

Ensure that the department continues to maintain their KPI target.
Ensuring that all prescription tracking is carried out at all times.Supervise and assist with the training of other Senior ATOs and ATOs.Participate in the Trust appraisal scheme.Ensure attendance at Trust mandatory training sessions.The post holder is required to work extended hours weekends and Bank Holidays as part of the Pharmacy rota.
Dispensary Under the supervision of a pharmacist, the dispensing of in-patient supplies which includes ward stock, take home drugs and providing drug supplies requested by the technicians providing the "one stop" service.
Dispense and record supplies of any clinical trials, unlicensed medicines.Under the supervision of a pharmacist, the dispensing of out patient and discharge prescriptions, including Oncology, Haematology and Clinical trials.
To include patient counselling on the storage, correct dosage/use, side effects and other relevant information about the drugs supplied.
Accurately handle payments of prescription charges.Support the service to the outside hospitals, clinics and nursing homes.
Provide drugs and medications requested by the agreed time to the correct location.
Supply the service to patients taking Clozaril.Under the supervision of a pharmacist, the dispensing of Controlled drugsAssist with the Extemporaneous Preparation of Medicines and over labelling/pre-packing procedures.To carry out reception duties including the answering of telephones and their appropriate transfer to other staff.To provide administrative support to the anticoagulant service, ensuring that any calls on the answer machine are dealt with in a timely manner and all patient appointments are actioned efficiently.
Homecare To receive and raise orders using the Homecare EMIS module to forward to Homecare Companies along with prescriptions prioritising as appropriate.To support the delivery of training on Homecare Medicines and the Homecare EMIS module for relevant members of the multi-disciplinary team.To maintain accurate and up to date records, including patient data and financial information.To input patient and detailed drug information accurately into the Homecare EMIS Module.To ensure compliance with current Homecare medicines management guidance.Minimise delays in delivery of medication to patients by ensuring that orders are placed promptly and prescriptions are made available to the Homecare company at the appropriate time.To be a point of contact regarding the medicines home delivery service for patients, Homecare providers and the AHNSFT staff.To interpret and follow up prescription queries.
