Job summary Our friendly, forward thinking, and supportive Medical Practice is looking to recruit a committed, caring and highly motivated Pharmacy Administrator & Prescription Clerk to join our friendly and well-established team.
Main duties of the job The Pharmacy Administrator & Prescription Clerk will be responsible for issuing repeat prescriptions, recalling patients for medication reviews and processing personally administered items (PPA)s for reimbursement.
About us This is a part time position, hours can be discussed atinterview.
We offer 5 weeks annual leave (pro rata), a competitive salaryand the chance to join or continue on in the NHS Pension Scheme.Applicants will have to undergo an enhanced DBS check and must have the rightto work in the UK.

Job description Job responsibilities KEY DUTIES:To process medication and repeat prescription requestsTo recall, invite and book patients for annual medication reviews.To record patient data in medical records (height, weight, BP, smoking status etc)To accurately claim for personally administered items reimbursement each monthOTHER DUTIES:To ensure every patient has had a medication review within a 12 month period.To invite patients using a variety of communication methods: SMS, telephone and letterTo identify personally administered items and ensure FP10 scripts gathered for reimbursement processTo pass on patient requests to the most appropriate department or team memberTo support Pharmacy team in reviewing protocols and SOPsTo participate in clinical audits as directedTo assist with monitoring and management of prescribing budgetsTo update patient medical records with personal information, such as contact details, next of kin details etc.To maintain accurate and relevant patient records, including recording of events and requestsTo keep the working area clean, tidy and professional whilst adhering to GDPR regulationsTo assist with training for new staffTo assist with the gathering of statistics and information when requiredTo work across different practices on an ad-hoc/when required basisIt will be necessary to attend and contribute to various practice meetings as requestedThis Job Description is neither exhaustive nor exclusive and will be reviewed periodically in conjunction with the post holder.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential Maths GCSE Grade C or above (or equivalent), English GCSE Grade C or above (or equivalent), Qualifications at A Level standard Desirable IT such as CLAIT, ECDL etc.
(or equivalent) Skills Essential Completed Application Form with No Spelling Mistakes / Errors, Ability to communicate and listen effectively to all internal and external stakeholders Desirable Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise own work, Ability to multi-task, Flexible Approach, Calm and Professional Disposition Knowledge Essential Microsoft Windows Applications Word Documents, Demonstrate sufficient knowledge of the English language to communicate effectively with staff and patients, Microsoft Windows Applications Excel Spreadsheets, Microsoft Windows Applications Outlook Desirable Clinical Computer Systems SystmOne (TPP), Medication Terminology Experience Essential 1 years+ Experience customer focused role, Telephone call handling, Working within a team, Working Independently Desirable 3 years + Experience customer focused role, Experience working in General Practice or Primary Care, Complaint handling & volatile situations
