We operate a 13-month (August 2023 - Sept 2024) student placement programme within our Performance Simulation team.
This is an exciting opportunity where you will work with highly skilled and experienced engineering professionals and graduates who you can learn and develop with - the more questions you ask the more you will gain from your experience.
It is important to know that many of our industrial placements have been successful in obtaining graduate roles on completion of their degree.
To be eligible for an industrial placement within our Performance Simulation team, you will be working towards a degree in Mechanical, Automotive or Aeronautical Engineering (or similar).
You should have a strong Matlab skillset and experience of Simulink modelling systems.
Your examples of strong problem-solving and good communication skills are essential.
It would be advantageous to possess an understanding of electric powertrains and battery systems, have some familiarity with vehicle dynamics principles and prior use of a source control system.
During the placement you will take on responsibilities such as: Undertaking simulations for a broad customer base across different engineering sectors e.g.
off-highway, automotive, rail.
Setting up, running, and assisting with the development of performance simulations, such as: Drive-cycle simulation Dynamic lap simulation Co-simulation between various toolsets via Simulink.
Supporting processes for data creation, post-processing, analysis and ad-hoc requirements.
Analysing and summarising simulation output.
Presentation, reporting and discussion of analysis results.
