England Hockey is seeking an accomplished leader who will be integral to the leadership of the sport in delivering the strategic plan.
We are seeking someone with a strong technical understanding and knowledge of performance hockey.
We did not meet our performance targets in Paris, and we have a target of one medal per gender going into Los Angeles (LA28). As leader of the senior performance programmes, the post holder will drive our ambition to be consistently Top 3 in the World and deliver the medal targets we aim for in LA28.
The Boards of both England and Great Britain Hockey have agreed on the long-term vision, mission, and objectives, and the post holder will play a critical part in their successful delivery and ongoing evolution. This role is about leading the translation of this ambitious strategy into execution.
They will have the technical knowledge and understanding of hockey, together with the drive and ability to lead their team to strive for the very best and have demonstrable experience in leading sporting performance success at the highest level.
The priorities for the role are:To provide leadership and strategic direction to the senior programmes.To lead our senior programme, designing and applying world-class performance planning principles to all aspects of the programme in support of our ambitions to be consistently top 3 in the world.To influence and support our Elite Development Programme (EDP) and our player pathway.To build and maintain effective ongoing relationships across England Hockey departments, the Home Nations, and external partners and stakeholders.To provide business-wide performance leadership and work alongside the senior leadership.Application Instructions:In the covering letter please outline your interest in applying for the role, how you believe you match the criteria shown in the candidate pack, and why England and GB Hockey is of interest to you.The closing date for applications is 5pm on 18 November 2024.Proposed dates for recruitment process:21st and 25th November – first interviewsWeek commencing 2 December – second interviewsPlease let us know in your covering letter if there are any problems for you with the above proposed dates.
