Job summary We are looking for a Nurse Associate to join our team within the Fosseway Primary Care Network, covering Barwell & Hollycroft Medical Centres.We are looking for someone who is a member of the NMC.This advert is for hours per week.The full-time starting salary for this role is £25,, after you have successfully passed your probation period the salary will increase to £25, After your first annual appraisal, approximately 18 months in post, the salary will then increase to £26, Main duties of the job To work as amember of the General Practice Nursing team, under the guidance of a RegisteredNurse, support the organisation and facilitation of clinical care in a holisticand proactive manner to patients registered at the member practices.
To maintain ahigh professional standard of nursing care in adherence to all Practice protocols/policies& guidelines, as well as to provide nursing assistance to the GPs and othermembers of the primary healthcare team.The role of theNursing Associate needs to be flexible in line with the present atmosphere forchange within the health service delivery.
It is essential that the Nursing Associateworks within their own level of competency and expand her/his role inaccordance with practice requirements and own scope of practice.
About us Hinckley and Bosworth Medical Alliance is a GP Federation that supports 12 GP practices across the Hinckley and Bosworth locality, which form 3 Primary Care Networks.We employ in excess of 50 PCN staff across a number of clinical grades, and continue to grow.As a rapidly growing Federation, we have structures in place to ensure that all staff have clinical mentors and are supported in their professional development.
Job description Job responsibilities Key Responsibilities: Toassist and perform routine nursing tasks related to patient care, such asroutine BP checks, suture and clip removal, BMI and lifestyle advice, asdirected with registered nurses and GPs.
Followingtraining and competency assessment, to undertake adult NHS immunisationprogrammes and ensure vaccines/injections are administrated under patient groupdirectives or patient specific direction.
Toundertake the collection of pathological & microbiology specimens includingvenepuncture, swabs, urine culture in line with local guidelines.
Toundertake cervical screenings, once suitably trained.
Tosupport chronic disease management including monitoring patients with stableasthma, undertaking preliminary investigations for Type 2 diabetes patients,such as foot checks.
Toprovide general health promotion education, advice on national screeningprograms and guide/refer patients to appropriate services.
Inline with national guidance and with recognised competency-based training,undertake screening programs such as cervical screening tests.
Tobe able to provide appropriate self-care advice for patients presenting withminor illness within own level of competency and referring to GP/ANP whereappropriate.
Chaperoneand assist patients where appropriate who are being examined by anotherclinician.
Toassist clinicians with minor surgery and well women procedures.
Tomaintain effective infection control measures in line with local guidelines andpractice policy.
Tobe able to recognise and manage anaphylaxis, according to the current UKResuscitation Council guidelines.
Tobe able to perform Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (BLS) and the correct use ofAutomated Defibrillator following training, according to the current UKResuscitation Council guidelines.
Toparticipate in developments within the practice and support QOF requirements.
Tobe registered with the NMC.
Work in accordance with the NMC Code of Conduct andScope of Practice for Nursing Associates Ensureaccurate notes of all consultations and treatments are recorded in thepatients notes and on computers, as per NMC guidelines.
Attendand actively participate in practice/ PCN meetings as required.
Awarenessof statutory protection procedures including referral and recognition of signsand symptoms of child abuse.
Awarenessof referral mechanisms for mental health issues, family violence, vulnerableadults and addictive behaviours.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential GCSE Grade A - C (or equivalent) in Maths and English Nursing Associate Foundation Degree Experience Essential Experience of working within a nursing team Desirable Experience of working in a GP practice.

Skills Essential Ability to work independently and as part of a team Must hold full driving licence and have a vehicle
