Serving as the main contact for payroll and timekeeping inquiries, this role prepares payroll entries, supports financial reconciliations, and maintains strict confidentiality while delivering high-quality service to both staff and management.Essential Functions and Duties:Processes payroll for assigned pay group, ensuring timely and accurate payment.Serves as the primary contact for payroll and timekeeping inquiries from staff and management.Maintains accuracy in tax information, Standard Occupational Classification (SOC), and garnishment processing.Processes off-cycle checks for terminations, bonuses, adjustments, and other special pay situations.Updates funding distributions as required to maintain accurate payroll allocations.Prepares payroll accrual entries and reconciliations for month-end closing.Records bank entries for payroll-related transactions.Consolidates and reconciles payroll data for financial audits and management reports.Assists in quarterly tax returns and year-end W-2 processing.Completes special projects as required to support payroll and financial operations.Required Experience, Education, and Skills:Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll processing.Strong computer literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.Experience with large-scale HRIS systems (Workday or ADP SmartCompliance preferred).Familiarity with federal labor laws and multi-state payroll processing.Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks.Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in work.Ability to work under strict confidentiality standards.Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with staff and management.Work Environment:Primarily works in an office environment with frequent use of computers and payroll software and requiring extended periods of sitting and data entry.May require extended hours during payroll deadlines or tax filing periods.Other Duties: Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the team member for this job.
