We have a new opportunity to be part of the Pattern Shop team in the role of Pattern Maker .
The successful candidate must be enthusiastic, hardworking, knowledgeable of Pattern Shop practices and standards, flexible, proactive and have a 'can do' attitude.
This is a late shift role: 17:00 – 3:30 Tues-Fri inclusive.
The Successful candidate must have the following attributes: Previous experience within a Pattern Shop environment, hand finishing epoxy tooling block pattern and moulds to a high standard.
Experience of preparing stock prior to machining, including cutting and bonding to specific requirements.
A good understanding of composite tooling and mould processing.
Be able to interpret engineering drawings and components specification sheets.
A high level of practical engineering and manual hand skills.
A willingness to work extra hours as and when required.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
A methodical and thorough approach to your work.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal, combined with the ability to work well with colleagues.
Be self-motivated, enthusiastic and a dependable team player.
Possess good IT skills.
Have a positive attitude and be willing to help throughout the department.
Work well under pressure to meet time critical deadlines.
The Key responsibilities of this role are: Preparing tooling block stock for CNC machining – including cutting and bonding.
Hand finishing and surfacing epoxy tooling block pattern and moulds post machining.
De-tagging and packaging Rohacell and Composite Machined inserts.
Maintaining ERP system entries in order to accurately track work and progress.
Adhering to strict quality control processes.
Working to a tight schedule ensuring delivery timeframes are met.
Assisting with other areas of the department as required.
Communicating with colleagues within the Pattern Shop and other departments.
Successfully meeting challenging and demanding deadlines.
The ability to multitask whilst remaining organised and focused.
Maintaining consistent high standards.
Being proactively aware of Health and Safety requirements.
Dealing with technical challenges as and when they arise and know when to seek assistance if unsure.
