Job summary Following the review of In-Patient MH Services within Berkshire Healthcare, Foundation Trust, we have an opportunity to recruit 1 WTE Band 8b Patient Flow and Outsourced Beds Clinical Lead Practitioner.
We are looking for a capable, reliable, highly organised, warm, and dynamic registered healthcare professional who has previous experience of working at a strategic level and in managing complex multi-agency relationships and has extensive mental health clinical experience as well as extensive knowledge of Acute Mental Healthcare services, both within an In-Patient setting and community Urgent Care services.As the Patient Flow and Outsourced Beds Clinical Lead Practitioner you will work closely with the Priory Hospital in Newbury and across BHFT Mental Health Urgent Care Services to support the development of liaison across services to ensure comprehensive responses and processes for supporting patients to receive the appropriate care and response for their healthcare and social needs, in a timely and holistic way.
We are keen to recruit a clinician with excellent presentation and communications skills and a proven track record of developing good working relationships across multiple services and settings, alongside outstanding clinical assessment skills.

Main duties of the job Support the Heads of Service for In-Patients and MH Urgent Care in providing expert clinical leadership and consultancy into the outsourced ward in the Priory Hospital, Newbury, supporting the development of strategic direction in line with changing National Guidelines and Local agendas.
Share the highest standards of care and influence the development of evidence-based practice across the outsourced ward and within both MH Urgent care and In-Patient Services.
To champion and drive quality improvement methodology to ensure appropriate changes take place and to lead the change processes that will ultimately develop professional practice and enhance patient care.
Provide expert supervision for staff working within the service areas, formal supervision, case conferences, professional nurse advocacy.
To provide expert practice, professional and clinical leadership through assessment, planning and implementation of highly specialised and appropriate episodes and transitions of care.
To work with highly complex facts or situations, requiring analysis, interpretation, and comparison of a range of options.
Make clinical judgements, manage conflicting views/ reconcile inter and intra professional differences of opinion.

Act as a specialist in the field of admission avoidance and early discharge from In-Patient Services, supporting the development of multi-Agency working to improve the experience of High Intensity Users across the Urgent Care Pathway and the stakeholders involved in this work Spend 60-70% of their time in direct clinical practice, demonstrating flexible, cross boundary, collaborative approaches necessary to enhance the care and lives of those experiencing mental illness of a degree where In-Patient Care via MH Urgent Care is required.
In the role of expert practitioner, provide clinical leadership to enable the provision of a defined, recovery-focused service in collaboration with the Priory Hospital provider in Newbury.
It is expected that this post will work collaboratively with the Consultant Psychologists, Consultant Psychiatrists, Nurse Consultants and Service Managers as a senior clinical leadership team across the Urgent Care Pathway including In-Patient Services and Community Urgent Care.
Some of themust haves for you to be considered for this role: Registered Healthcare Professional ( RMN, S/W) Extensive experience of working across boundaries and with multiple agencies.
Extensive previous experience of managing a complex mental health caseload in the community and within In-Patient services.
Excellent clinical assessment skills.
Experience of teaching, mentoring and facilitating workshops.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to use these both on the ward and in other internal/ external forums and situations.
