While this position offers remote work flexibility, it does require some travel.
About the position In this role, you will be responsible for strategizing, maintaining, and further developing our pathology services by fostering associate engagement, driving innovation, and ensuring financial success.
Collaboration is key, as you will partner closely with our Quality Assurance, Operations, and Sales/ Commercial teams to ensure alignment and stay updated on client satisfaction and service changes.
Experience required: Overall responsibility for the quality and efficient delivery of laboratory results to clients, including histopathology, haematology, biochemistry, cytology, microbiology and infectious disease testing, working closely with Head of UK Lab Operations and senior technicians.
Interacting with, advising, and assisting laboratory personnel in proper specimen processing techniques for continuous improvement in sample processing quality.
Working in conjunction with IT to create and maintain an efficient system for generating results ensuring appropriate systems are in place for technician and pathologist reviews, evaluating and where necessary updating criteria for reviews to maintain quality standards Generating and updating comments associated with results which are released without pathologist oversight to ensure up to date clinical information is provided to clients Liaising with quality control personnel to ensure assays are correctly validated and that appropriate QC processes are in place to ensure delivery of accurate results.
Working with QA to ensure SOPs are correct and up to date.
Ensure turnaround times are upheld, creating pathologist rotas to ensure adequate cover is in place Be a flagship for Antech UK liaising with clients and promoting good relationships Identify, plan and facilitate continuing education programs for UK Pathologists.
Responsible for reading cases 20% of the time.
Develop and implement professional development projects by providing continuing education through partnerships with universities, conferences, publications, and other professional organizations.
In conjunction with the Director of Pathology EU, help prepare quarterly townhalls for medical teams Ensure the team of veterinary professionals meet caseload and turnaround expectations.
Lead a team of highly talented pathologists encouraging collaboration, supporting individual development, identifying additional talent, and cultivating leadership skills in a growing and dynamic team.
Consult with and assist other pathologists as needed to promote collegiality Ensure CPD requirements are upheld for the pathology team, encouraging case rounds and journal discussions.
Promote the growth of Antech by actively participating in pathologist meetings and developing and maintaining professional relationships/contact with clients.
Maintain proficiency and develop diagnostic skills through regular continuing education.
Assist in other duties as assigned, relevant to Pathology and other lab services.
Contribute to on-going innovation.
Strategically plan for the pathology service so that we continue to innovate, retain our associates through engagement and maintain TAT Conduct yearly reviews and merit increases for pathology team Responsible for financial success of pathology (P&L) in conjunction with Director of Pathology EU Attend certain conferences to maintain relationships with clients, vendors, +/- present on innovation We share a collaborative obligation to ensure that we conduct ourselves in the utmost ethical manner and that we hold each other accountable to the values and standards of the organization.
