Pastry Chef - Lymington, Hampshire  Location: Stanwell House Hotel Salary: Up to £36,500 a year Job Overview Stanwell House Hotel, a cosmopolitan and stylish boutique hotel nestled in the heart of Lymington, is seeking a skilled and passionate Pastry Chef to join our kitchen team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in baking and food preparation, with an emphasis on creating high-quality pastries and desserts.
This role requires a keen eye for detail, creativity, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
The Pastry Cook will play a vital role in ensuring that our offerings are not only delicious but also visually appealing.
Duties Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, desserts, and breads according to established recipes.
Ensure all food preparation meets safety and hygiene standards, adhering to food safety regulations.
Collaborate with the kitchen team to plan and execute dessert menus for special events and daily service.
Maintain an organised and clean workspace, ensuring all kitchen equipment is properly cleaned and stored after use.
Monitor inventory levels of baking supplies and assist in ordering as necessary.
Experiment with new recipes and techniques to enhance the dessert offerings.
Assist in training junior kitchen staff on pastry techniques and best practices.
Experience Proven experience as a Pastry Cook or in a similar role within the restaurant or food production industry.
Strong knowledge of baking techniques, food preparation methods, and culinary principles.
Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in a kitchen environment.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
Excellent time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
A passion for culinary arts, particularly in pastry creation, is essential.
