A respected Further Education and Apprenticeship provider, rated "Good" by Ofsted, is seeking a Part-Time Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) in Engineering to join their dynamic team.

Primary Purpose of the Role: Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) – Engineering • Support the Work Based Learning Manager to ensure high standards of quality and compliance across the provision for all learners.
• Lead internal quality assurance strategies, ensuring the college's IQA policies are adhered to.
• Support the design and management of employer-based training programmes within the area.
• Line manage Trainer Assessors to ensure a high standard of provision and promote good practice.
• Contribute to and engage in department self-assessment and quality improvement planning.
• Ensure the provision of high-quality apprenticeships and work-based learning experiences for all stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities: Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) – Engineering 1.
Ensure compliance with learner sign-up processes and required documentation.

Manage the initial assessment and interview process, liaising with employers for successful onboarding.
3.
Ensure apprentices have detailed training plans to support progress toward timely gateway and EPA achievement.
4.
Ensure off-the-job training is effectively planned, tracked, and monitored for each apprentice.
5.
Maintain accurate records for learners and employers, ensuring timely registration with awarding bodies.
6.
Support recruitment and employer engagement initiatives, including employer events and open days.
7.
Support internal and external quality assurance activities, including planning and preparing for external audits.
8.
Monitor apprentices' progress through regular reviews, ensuring stretching targets are set and met.
9.
Lead internal verification activities, ensuring quality standards are upheld across the department.
10.
Provide mentorship to assessing staff and contribute to CPD activities within the department.
11.
Ensure compliance with all relevant policies and awarding body requirements.
12.
Collaborate with stakeholders to develop industry links and promote the College's work-based learning programmes.
Essential Qualifications and Experience: • Level 3 vocational qualification in Engineering or a related field.
• Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) qualification • Recent experience of training and assessing within Further Education or a training environment.
• Significant experience in a quality monitoring role, particularly in Internal Quality Assurance.
• Experience working with awarding bodies, e-Portfolios, and managing a caseload of learners.
• In-depth understanding of apprenticeship standards and vocational qualification systems.
• Full driving licence, with a willingness to travel.
Desirable Attributes: • Leadership and management qualifications (e.g., Level 4 Internal Quality Assurance qualification).
• Experience of leading external quality assurance visits and managing EQA processes.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation applicable to the vocational area.
• Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends if required.
