Would you like to make a positive impact by supporting children with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and PMLD?
About the school and SEN Teaching Assistant opportunity
This is a very well facilitated SEN school, based in Harlow.
The school have an excellent track record for supporting SLD and PMLD and have a wonderful and supportive SLT.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support in class and on a 1:1 basis.
The students have SLD and PMLD including Autism and will be non-verbal or have limited verbal language.
You will have a calm and nurturing demeanour to help with behavioural and emotional regulation when behaviours are challenging.
You will need to be positive and patient, proactive, and engaging.
The role will be to support for the full academic year with a permanent SEN Teaching Assistant contract available for the right individual.
SEN Teaching Assistant requirements
Passionate about supporting students with SEND Able to communicate using PECS, Makaton, and visual timetables (Beneficial) Committed to personal development and learning specialist skills Proactive and flexible Ability to be a team player and build rapport quickly Ideally with previous SEN experience either formal or informal
