Join the team as a Mental Health Teaching Assistant at a specialised SEMH school in Guildford, where you'll support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism, ADHD, and other associated learning difficulties.
As SEMH Classroom Assistant, you will work within small class sizes of up to 10 students, alongside 1-2 other Teaching Assistants, to create a safe and supportive environment tailored to each student's needs.
Role Details: Position: SEMH Classroom Assistant Location: Guildford Hours: 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday (term time only) Pay Rate: £90 - £100 per day, depending on experience (paid via PAYE) Responsibilities: Provide personalised support for students with SEMH, Autism, ADHD, and other learning challenges.
Collaborate closely with other Mental Health Teaching Assistants and teachers to foster a positive learning atmosphere.
Utilise strong behaviour management skills; Team Teach training is beneficial but not essential.
Requirements: Experience in SEN or SEMH settings is an advantage; applicants with personal SEN experience are encouraged to apply.
Resilience, empathy, and patience to support students who may exhibit verbal and physical aggression.
