Main duties of the job Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards(DoLS) ApplicationsPlay a key role in the processing of DOLS applications, ensuringstatutory timescales are met and are line with DOLS Code of Practice.

This new role will be a key partof the transformation of legal services to ensure the in-house legal serviceprovision is of the highest standardPlay a key role in the processing of DOLS applications, ensuringstatutory timescales are met and are line with DOLS Code of Practice.Knowledge of UK court procedures and the ability to draft courtdocumentsCommunicate with providers, assessors and members of the public.This role will suit someone who is a strong team player and who wants toprovide an excellent service for NHS Sussexs service users.Admin support across the Integrated Legal Team.Acting professionally at all times on behalf of the Integrated LegalTeam.Respond to internal and external enquiries, either written, email, faceto face or telephone using empathy and judgement and taking appropriate actionincluding giving (or withholding) potentially complex and sensitive data asappropriate.Maintaining confidentiality at all times and making file notes for legalpurposes.Work confidently with a variety of information management systems andcomputer software packages.Send and receive sensitive information within and outside the Trustsecurely and without delay, using relevant protection and encryption systems.To assist the Integrated Legal Team with a wide range of legal enquiriesand reports, prioritising and escalating to the Claims and Legal Services Manager,as appropriate.To provide cover and support across the Integrated Legal Team.Support improvements and initiatives within the Integrated Legal Team.Work within the procedural guidelines.Ensure deadlines are met and take appropriate action to make sure thatwork is completed to given timescales.

A good understanding of the health and social care environment and roles and responsibilities within it.
