Pancreas Transplant Specialist Nurse

Job overview An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Band nurse to join the Pancreas Transplant Nurse specialist Team at the Oxford Transplant Centre.
You will be based in Oxford in an outpatient setting, the role involves covering peripheral outreach clinics so a full current driving license is essential.
You will be working as part of a MDT and, after appropriate training, an autonomous practitioner.The success of our team is down to our supportive and compassionate ethos and the trust we have with each other.
We are looking for someone who is a great team player, shares our ethos and is dedicated and flexible with their approach to work.
Excellent communication, problem solving and time management skills are a necessity.The post holder could have a renal nursing background or experience of caring for people with long term health needs.Within three months of starting this post, and following a supportive period of training, you will join the recipient coordinator on call rota, providing a hr service, including weekends and bank holidays, coordinating all transplant offers for Oxford recipients.
For further information please contact Simon Northover, Lead Pancreas Specialist Nurse on or k Main duties of the job Accept patient referrals to agreed criteria and be identified as the key worker for an agreed patient/client caseload.Provide advice, education and support to patients, their carers and other health care professionals.Practice clinically in agreed care settings according to approved protocols or guidance.Contribute to the smooth running of the designated service.Work across departmental boundaries.Liaise with other hospital and community teams along an agreed pathway to support the delivery of patient and family centred seamless care.Contribute to the on going development of the designated service.
