Ideally the post holderwill have clinical experience working in palliative & end of life care, inaddition to training, coaching and mentoring skills.

Our team works closely with partners across the Leicester, Leicestershireand Rutland health and social care system to develop opportunities that supportthe workforce to deliver the best possible experiences for palliative and endof life care patients, their families and carers.
Main duties of the job The successful post holder will work both autonomously and as part of a team supporting the delivery of existing educational programmes, to multi-professional and multi-disciplinary staff, including advanced communication skills training.
They will lead on the design, development, delivery and evaluation of new innovative education and training opportunities, contributing towards the Centre for Excellence Research and Education strategy.
They will also have the opportunity to shape the future workforce through the education of medical and nursing students as well as supporting LOROS hospice teams.Based in our Centre for Excellence, training will be delivered in the education centre, virtually or in practice settings as appropriate.Current NHS pension members can continue in the scheme under LOROS direction body status and NHS service will be taken into consideration in relation to annual leave entitlementLOROS wants to ensure that the profile of its employees reflects the diverse communities of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

Job description Job responsibilities The post holder will deliver education and training to ensure the continuity and quality of palliative and end of life care both at LOROS and in a range of care settings across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
Collaboration with partners, including other education providers will be an important aspect of this role, ensuring that LOROS plays an active part in addressing challenges related to palliative and end of life care and promote the standards and expectations as outlined in Ambitions for Palliative and End of Life Care: a national framework for local action 2021-26.A key part of the role will be to support the Lead Clinical Educator in designing, developing, and delivering structured educational programmes and development strategies to enhance the knowledge, skills and confidence of health and social care staff in palliative and end of life care.
The post holder will act as a change agent by enhancing professional skills across the Health and Social Care workforce.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:To promote high quality, personalised palliative and end of life care across a range of health and social care settings by identifying and developing the skills and knowledge of multi-professional staff in a variety of health and social care settings to ensure best practice and high-quality services to all patients with a life limiting illness.To recognise individual, organisational and system wide issues which impact upon the provision of palliative and end of life care, tailoring facilitation of learning to take account of and address such issues.Lead on the development of proposals and innovative educational initiatives in line with identified gaps in provision and demonstrate leadership by activelyseeking new partnerships.Develop and maintain relationships with commissioners and LOROS stakeholders including delivery of activity as defined in our contracts.Lead on the planning, development, delivery and evaluation of teaching and learning experiences for specified areas of responsibility.In collaboration with the office manager you will provide data and information pertaining to delivery and to support evaluation of the education and training programmes.To develop and maintain a safe and effective learning environment across a range of workplace settings.To work with specified teams across LLR in identifying learning needs and to develop and support the development of specific learning pathways.To maintain own personal professional development and (where appropriate) act in accordance with a recognised professional bodies code of conduct ( NMC).To nurture a reflective learning environment where individuals and teamsevaluate and deliver care based on evidence and best practice.

This may include study days, accredited courses, workshops, evening lectures and outreach programmes.To ensure that programmes of education are: Creative and flexible to meet the needs of multi-professional/agency teams.
Appropriate for all members of the MDT.
Reflective of the different levels, needs and areas of practice of those involved in the provision of palliative care.
Reflective of LOROS research findings to ensure translation into educational programmes and practice.To contribute to the delivery, accreditation, assessment and evaluation of programmes in accordance with standards and regulations of external partnering organisations.GENERAL:To carry out and comply with the prevention and control of infection as per LOROS policies and procedures.All staff are subject to LOROS policies, procedures and conditions of service, with reference to the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.The post holder is responsible for safeguarding the interests of children and adults who they come into contact with during their work.
