Join Our Team as a Skilled Painter!
Belfast City Council is seeking a qualified and experienced Painter to join our Property Maintenance team.

About the Role: As a Painter, you will be responsible for carrying out a variety of painting and decorating tasks in council properties, ensuring that high standards are met.
You will work independently or as part of a team, providing reactive and planned maintenance, and contributing to the upkeep of the citys public spaces.
This is a fantastic opportunity to use your skills to make a tangible impact on Belfasts buildings and public areas.
You'll have the chance to work on diverse projects while maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency in everything you do.
Your Duties: Perform a full range of painting and decorating tasks, including surface preparation, undercoating, glossing, emulsion work, and wallpapering.
Use and maintain painters tools and equipment (e.g., ladders, trestles, scaffolding).
Safely erect and dismantle scaffolding, working at heights as required.
Handle materials, including thinners and diluents, in a safe and responsible manner.
Treat surface issues such as cracking, flaking, and blistering.
Carry out reactive and planned maintenance in various council properties.
Work from painting schedules and specifications.
Participate in on-the-job coaching and training for new employees, apprentices, and contractors.
Maintain accurate performance and billing records.
Drive council vehicles as required.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and council policies at all times.
Your Profile: Essential Criteria: NVQ Level II in Painting and Decorating (or equivalent qualification).
Full, current driving licence valid in Northern Ireland, or access to transport to fulfil the roles requirements.
At least one year of relevant experience in: Preparing surfaces for painting and decorating.
Erecting and dismantling equipment, adhering to health and safety standards.
Painting and decorating in a building maintenance environment.
Your Benefits: £13.93 per hour.
Pension Contribution.
Additional Information: Full time, Temporary.
08:00-17:00, Monday-Friday.
Duncrue Complex, Belfast.
