As part of the Alpine F1 Teams long term plan to compete for F1 World Championship we are looking for a Paint Shop Manager to join our Production team.
The Role Key responsibilities include:
Leading and managing the paint facility within Alpine F1's state-of-the-art operations. Supervising, mentoring, and motivating a team of skilled painters to ensure high standards of workmanship and on-time delivery. Managing the preparation, painting, and finishing of race car parts, including chassis, bodywork, and aerodynamic components, as well as race team equipment and other factory items. Ensuring all painted components meet the team's stringent quality and aesthetic standards, with attention to weight optimisation and aerodynamic performance. Collaborating with other departments to ensure painting projects are completed on time and meet the race team's demanding schedule. Managing inventory of paints, coatings, tools, and other consumables, ensuring the paint facility is fully stocked while controlling costs. Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, including the correct handling of hazardous materials and proper use of PPE. Driving process improvements to increase efficiency and quality of paint shop operations, exploring new techniques and materials. Liaising with design, production, and aerodynamics teams to align painting processes with technical specifications and performance requirements. Troubleshooting issues during the painting process to find proactive solutions and avoid delays. The Person Expertise in painting techniques, including advanced coatings, lacquers, and custom finishes for composite materials. Deep understanding of the challenges in painting lightweight, aerodynamic components to exacting standards. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team. Excellent attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality output under pressure. Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to paint facilities, including hazardous materials handling. Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, particularly within the unique demands of Formula 1. Familiarity with resource management and stock control processes. Experience in vinyl & wrapping application is desirable. Basic Adobe Illustrator skills desirable. Proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
