Warwick Emergency Department children's area is a busy, challenging and rewarding area to work within.We are looking for staff who are motivated, enthusiastic and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills along with the ability to work within the fast-paced environment of Emergency Medicine.
An opportunity has arisen for a band 6 RSCN or dual qualified children's nurses to join our friendly team within the Emergency Department.
We have an excellent team of health care professionals dedicated to children's Emergency Care provision and we currently have vacancies for Paediatric Nurses within the Children's area of the Emergency Department.We can provide a proactive learning environment with access to a professional development nurse as well as many supportive in-service learning opportunities.
Main duties of the job To co-ordinate and provide skilled nursing (without direct supervision) to paediatricpatients, in accordance with responsibilities under the NMC Code of effectively take responsibility for the overall management of the paediatricdepartment, maintaining patient care and patient flows in accordance withperformance escalate delays in the delivery of care and management of patients, inaccordance with Trust Escalation Procedures, to meet National PerformanceTargets.

Job description Job responsibilities Organisational Ensure all Trust wide and departmental processes, protocols andprocedures are understood and adhered to by all strategies are in place to enable the A&E performance targets to bemet; escalating, as per the Escalation Policy, to the appropriate level whenneeded.
Completing breach analysis during each staff sickness ensuring that the department has minimum safestaffing levels; escalation to Clinical Nursing Lead if appropriate cover is in the investigation of complaints/clinical incidents as necessary.
Foster good working relationships with other paediatric wards anddepartments within the Trust.
Supervise junior staff through a shift, prioritising and delegating asappropriate.
Manage all resources to the maximum benefit of patients and the service,being aware of resource implications specific to the department.
Promote effective communication within the nursing team, to patients and carers, visitors, members of the multi-disciplinary team and externalagencies, receive and report sensitive information.Participate in the setting, implementing and monitoring of organisation andlocal objectives Promote, and participate in, collaborative working relationships with themulti-disciplinary team.
Act as a positive role model for other staff.
Act as an advocate for patients.
Utilise clinical and risk assessment skills to maintain a safe environment.
ClinicalTo be competent to assess, plan, delivery and manage episodes of care,participating in all aspects of care from arrival through todischarge/admission/ be an effective practitioner and demonstrate the ability to deliver a highstandard of patient care.Organise the method of care delivery within a clinical area; prioritising, allocating and delegating effectively.
To identify and act upon situations which may be detrimental to the healthand wellbeing of patients.

Maintain awareness of current nursing practice/research with particularreference to own working area, evaluating and disseminating findings.
To support and participate in departmental clinical research activities, andassist in the implementation of any appropriate research findings.
