Role Purpose: Responsible for ensuring the efficient and cost-effective delivery of DCK product packaging requirements across all brands. This includes owning the day-to-day processes of designing packaging, inventory and cost management, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities: Develop an inventory management process for maximum control, minimizing write-off costs and maximizing economies of scale with bulk production forecasts. Implement and manage inventory processes, escalating opportunities for cost savings or addressing potential overstock issues. Collaborate with the B&M teams on packaging forecasts to minimize print-to-order scenarios and ensure core carding is available for suppliers. Ensure DCK achieves the best possible costs for packaging requirements. Negotiate packaging costs with suppliers, using forecasts for stable and consistent card costs. Identify opportunities for cost price control, including systematic changes for improved visibility and control. Utilize industry knowledge for market analysis to ensure DCK remains best in class for product packaging. Work with the design/creative team on new product packaging concepts for DCK brands. Provide insights to Buying teams on achievable cost requirements. Understand brand requirements and translate them into product packaging. Ensure smooth ordering of packaging for reworks, collaborating with Supply Chain admins to track POs to delivery. Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and sustainability requirements, staying updated on industry changes. Build and maintain relationships with external packaging suppliers for maximum benefits to DCK. Act as the first point of contact for brand teams on new packaging development and forecasting. Collaborate with design/creative teams for cost-effective, on-brand packaging. Work with Supply Chain admins to ensure accurate packaging administration. Inspire and empower colleagues to achieve consistent standards and improved performance through positive engagement. Build solid relationships within the business, motivating colleagues to meet business needs and goals. Skills, Experience, and Qualifications: Experience in product packaging or DCK processes, systems, and brands. Excellent planning, organizing, and prioritizing skills in a dynamic environment.
