Role Purpose: Responsible for ensuring the efficient and cost-effective delivery of DCK product packaging requirements across all brands. This includes managing day-to-day processes of designing packaging, inventory, and cost management, while ensuring compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities: Develop an inventory management process that maximizes control for DCK, minimizing write-off costs and maximizing economies of scale with bulk production forecasts. Implement and manage inventory processes, identifying opportunities for cost savings and addressing potential overstock issues. Collaborate with the B&M teams on forecasting packaging needs to minimize print-to-order scenarios and ensure core carding is available to suppliers. Ensure DCK achieves the best possible costs for its packaging requirements. Negotiate packaging costs with suppliers, utilizing forecasts to maintain stable and consistent card costs. Explore opportunities for improved cost price control, including systematic changes for better visibility and control. Utilize industry knowledge and conduct regular market analysis to maintain best-in-class product packaging. Work with the design/creative team to develop new product packaging concepts for DCK brands. Provide insights to the Buying teams on achievable packaging within their cost requirements. Understand brand requirements and articulate these in product packaging. Ensure smooth ordering of packaging for reworks, coordinating with Supply Chain admins for timely PO placements and delivery tracking. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and sustainability requirements, staying informed of industry changes and competitor offerings. Build and maintain relationships with external packaging suppliers to maximize benefits for DCK. Act as the first point of contact for brand teams on new packaging development and forecasting card requirements. Foster collaboration with design/creative teams to deliver cost-effective, on-brand packaging. Ensure accurate use of DCK systems for all packaging administration in collaboration with Supply Chain admins. Inspire and empower colleagues to achieve consistent standards and improved performance through positive engagement. Build solid relationships within the business, motivating and engaging colleagues to work collaboratively to meet business goals. Demonstrate passion for personal and team development, modeling a consistent PDP process and valuing feedback for growth. Skills, Experience, and Qualifications: Experience in product packaging or familiarity with DCK processes, systems, and brands. Excellent planning, organizing, and prioritizing skills in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Hands-on approach with an entrepreneurial and "can-do" mentality. Highly analytical and logical, with an understanding of how packaging availability impacts sales. Strong attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
