We're seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Outdoor Learning Support Assistant to join our team in South Brent.
In this role, you'll work closely with our holistic educators to support the personal, social, and academic development of SEN children in a creative, nature-centered learning environment.
Key Responsibilities: Support children with a range of SEN needs in outdoor learning sessions, ensuring each child feels safe, engaged, and supported.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and nurturing atmosphere that values each child's unique strengths and abilities.
Work one-on-one and in small groups, providing both emotional and practical support to help children access and enjoy learning activities in outdoor settings.
Assist with planning, preparing, and delivering hands-on, nature-based activities that promote sensory exploration, curiosity, and resilience.
Collaborate closely with teaching staff, therapists, and parents to monitor each child's progress and tailor activities to meet their individual needs.
Embrace and model a holistic approach to learning, respecting the interconnectedness of physical, emotional, and intellectual development.
About You: Experience working with SEN children is essential; familiarity with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, and other learning differences is beneficial.
A genuine love for the outdoors and a belief in the benefits of outdoor education for young people.
Patience, empathy, and creativity —able to adapt to each child's unique learning style and support them through challenges.
An open mind and enthusiasm for holistic learning approaches that go beyond traditional classroom practices.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team, with excellent communication skills and a proactive, problem-solving approach.
Basic First Aid training and a DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
