Orthopaedic Patient Coordinator

Job summary The role is required to provide efficient and effective administrative duties to the Orthopaedic Outpatient Department at Yeovil District Hospital (YDH).The post requires flexibility and the ability to provide a wide range of administrative duties for the clinical and wider administrative team.The patient facing role is to provide a friendly advice and information service to patients, colleagues and visitors to the Orthopaedic Outpatient Department.
Main duties of the job Deal with day-to-day correspondence, initiating appropriate responses to provide patients, staff and other parties with required information in a friendly and professional manner.Receive telephone calls, accepting messages on behalf of members of the specialty team, taking appropriate action where with appropriate personnel in the team to gather and co-ordinate patient information so this is accessible in a timely manner.Process urgent referrals and arrange appropriate outpatient appointments.Participate in team and Trust meetings as requested.
