Role: Optimization Functional Test SMELocation: Reading Area - HybridDuration: 6 months (initially – view to extend)Role Description:As an Optimisation Test SME in the Balancing Transformation programme, you will and work with Business and QA and Developer to support the testing for Optimization algorithm that will be deployed in the Electricity National Control Centre (ENCC) to help balance the system.
You will be working in a team of experts, engaging with the IT and the business in an Agile delivery environment, to deploy solutions in a state-of-the-art cloud-native IT platformKey Responsibilities:Specific responsibilities include (but not limited to):Work with the project team and the customer team on the Dispatch algorithm as part of Balancing Transformation programs Support in Quality Assurance and Development of Modern Optimisation Algorithm.
Coordinate with different functional teams and Business to review and test Scenarios.Perform the exploratory test on and find the defects and observation Help in the development for requirement tools and automation of testing the algorithmKey Skills:Has solid coding skills in PythonTest Automation skill using Python, Java, Selenium,Experience solving the optimization problem using various techniquesDevelop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data setsStrong Understanding of mathematical programming solver available for your LP, QP and MIP (MILP, MIQP, and MIQCP) problems.Understanding of data collection, preprocessing and analysisExperience using statistical computer languages (Python, etc.)
