The Role A multi-faceted role, you will be involved in all aspects of R&D and design: developing solutions to meet our clients' challenges, preparing proposals, planning and conducting experimental campaigns and providing results in written and verbal form.
You will be a self-starter, able to work effectively in a team and with customers.
An eagerness and ability to learn is essential.

Although not essential, we are particularly interested to hear from candidates with a defence background and/or with experience in laser directed energy.

Essential Requirements: Practical experience and understanding of optical engineering and/or lasers Excellent analytical skills with an eye for detail and accuracy Ability to interpret detailed technical information and convey to colleagues and stakeholders Ability to multi-task Work well within a team and interfacing with customers Degree in relevant discipline Eligible to obtain UK security clearance ( resident within the UK for at least the last five years ) Desirable: Defence industrial experience Laser directed energy experience PhD in relevant field Optical design experience in Zemax OpticStudio Data acquisition and analytics Programming experience in Python, COMSOL, LabVIEW Note that it is not necessary to have all of the desirable requirements above.
