Optical Patent Engineer

IC Resources is working with a Cambridge-based Optical Imaging client who is looking for a freelance Optical Patent Engineer with an Optics background to assist them with their current projects.

The Role Onsite 5 days a week in Cambridge A 3-month initial contract with potential extension depending on the performance Outside IR35 The Requirements Document new ideas, technologies, and inventions, ensuring they are described comprehensively Assist or independently prepare technical sections of patent applications, including detailed descriptions, drawings, and claims Help develop strategies to manage and expand an organization's patent portfolio.
Collaborate with designers or personally create visual representations of inventions for patent applications Evaluate submissions from engineers for technical merit and patentability.
Ensure all deadlines related to filings, responses, and renewals are met.
