Main Responsibilities Production Services staff are responsible for delivering a high quality support service on behalf of the BBC.Operations technicians are responsible for the provision of portable recording equipment, accessories and related consumables to various productions across the BBC.
Operation Technicians and Senior Operation Technicians ensure that equipment is maintained, available for use, allocated to programme teams as required and monitored and tracked to ensure maximum utilisation of assets.
They will advise programme makers on the use of the kit that is being hired.
It is essential that role holder understands the needs of the business and is sensitive to the pressures faced by production teams.
Operations Technicians are concerned with the preparation and basic maintenance of equipment, liaising with programme teams in relation to their requests and advising on equipment set up, and ensuring that the movements of assets are accurately recorded and tracked.
Introduction Media Operations is one of two main departments within the Technology & Media Operations Group.
Media?Operations is at the heart of teams delivering incredible content across all our platforms for all audiences.
Comprising around nine hundred people, it manages the craft and production operations for the BBC's news, radio, and sport services across London, Salford, and Birmingham - capturing, editing, and producing our output 24x7 for TV, radio, and online.
