Job Description The Operations Lead is accountable for the day-to-day running of their assigned area within the production area, maintaining team performance and line management of the team to achieve the production plan.This will include taking daily actions to build team engagement, ensuring a safe working environment and prompt management of key issues in order to achieve the operational plan.
Role holder will fulfil a combination of direct production and team leading, the ratios will vary and the Operations Lead will need to maintain stamp approvals once achieved.
It is expected that the role holder will be able to move around the factory to support when there is an absence or vacancy and will also be asked to cover build if needed within the cell.
Management of skill of whole team in conjunction with wider Operations Management ensuring 2 deep cover on all critical activities.
Connected with the other Operations Leads for the module to support delivery of the whole module performance.
Working to part 145 or 21G compliance with the purpose of achieving set targets to ensure customer satisfaction.
The role holder will also continue to assist with direct production activities in line with the S&OP planning and maintain their stamp approvals as needed.
•Lead and supervise the team, including any Apprentices, coordinating schedules and daily tasks addressing topics on a daily basis as needed•Manage people topics in a way that maximises opportunity for employee engagement in line with cultural aspirations as well as ensuring output targets are achieved including the following:oOrganise and prepare overtime and holiday, checking that the expected output is achieved oManage planned and unplanned absencesoLead development review (ODR/PDR) and training needs and plan to ensure cross training takes place within celloMonitor and manage performance, initiate investigations and proactively address employee relations topics where needed oUnderstand and act as a role model for the Safran Leadership modeloPromote and embed an improvement culture and share best practice with other team leaders•Lead daily meetings and associated HSE processes including GPI, ensuring HSE awareness and compliance across the team.
Take actions where needed to support accident investigation (8D), resolve deviations and working towards all team members having a HSE mind-set•Review and analyse system data to support decision making including line of balance•Maintain team board including visual metrics, action plans and other relevant information•Deploy a team working ethos and manage individuals in alignment with site cultural expectations•Proactively communicate key business news to the team helping them understand how they are contributing to the overall business goals Complementary Description •Ensure compliance with use of SOLAR (Time tracking) across the team•Ensure all activities are compliant to part 145 or 21G rules and that the Safety management system is deployed in the team•Manage tooling budget and calibration control including recall list and out of tolerance•Take necessary actions to ensure module quality•Tackle issues blocking daily outputsoLead efforts to resolve conflicts and problems within team and, if necessary, seek assistance from Operations ManagersoCoordinate with resources across the business to resolve issues including Supply Chain, Engineering and QualityoHighlight any issues during the daily meeting (QRQC process) and take action to implement solutions•Adhere to standard processes that support business requirements•Drive problem solving and improvements, 5S standards, one Safran Waves and root cause analysis of issues using the team as appropriate to assist with improvements and follow up of actions Job Requirements •Previous experience of working in a regulated manufacturing environment•Qualification or experience within a Manufacturing discipline •Previous line management experience or team coordination advantageous•Previous experience of coordinating work for a team or group of people, able to delegate effectively and prioritise workloads accordingly•Resilient with good attention to detail and able to work accurately and efficiently to meet internal targets•Good planning and organisational skills with a flexible attitude•Good influencing skills •Effective communication skills with a good interpersonal style – able to relate and build rapport with people at all levels•Ability to review and interpret module data to make appropriate decisions•Drive and influence to ensure work is completed effectively and efficiently •Good understanding of CI and 5S principles and their application•Ability to deal with conflict•Action orientated and high level of energy for improvements and change•Positive attitude towards quality of work•Demonstrate understanding of Part 145 or 21G requirements as relevant - beneficial Specificity of the job As required
