Job summary Following the positive outcome of the Home First Programme, including the successful Active Recovery Pilot in the North of Leeds we are seeking an Operational Team Manager to work alongside the Operational Service Manager and Clinical Therapy team to develop, implement and lead Leeds Community Healthcare through a new community therapy offer.
This is an exciting opportunity to be fully engaged in building and maintain this Therapy service as we roll out city wide, to deliver wider community Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy service including Urgent Response and Planned care assessment and rehabilitation.
As the Operational Team Manager, you will have excellent knowledge around the support staff need day to day, managing the E Roster, sickness, training and performance.
You will have experience of complex decision making and working alongside HR.You will understand capacity and demand and support with the drive to reduce waiting list times, having the confidence and knowledge to work within business continuity.
You will have an understanding of local and national drivers while ensuring the service works within set KPIs.The service is citywide, you will be required to travel across the city, being visible is essential when developing relationships and supporting staff.
Some flexible working can be considered to ensure a good work life balance; however, this does need to fit in with the requirements of the service over a 7-day week.
As the Operational Team Manager there will be times when you need to deputise for the Operational Service Manager, having good insight into whats going on in the service and be confident in reporting as a strategic level when necessary.
Main duties of the job As the Operational Team Manager, you will have oversight of the staff within the service.
You will complete and manage the data around appraisals, 1:1s, training and performance.
There is a requirement for you to have full insight into performance and quality and being proactive and creative to ensure that the service achieves set targets daily/weekly/monthly/annually.
On a day-to-day basis when managing staff you will carry out return to work interviews following sickness, managing staff through the appropriate policy, linking in with Occupational Health and HR.
Working closely with the Therapy Lead you will support staff to identify where necessary areas for improvement, ensuring that all staff are performing at the level expected of them.
You will have oversight with the Operational Service Manager of the rota.
You will implement the Business Continuity Plan appropriately ensuring that demand and capacity is managed while taking into account peaks and troughs of the service.
You will form relationships with partners across the whole system, supporting to promote the service and work in partnership with our Leeds City Council Colleagues to provide a robust Therapy service within Leeds.
You will form relationships with colleagues in LTHT to ensure that there are seamless processes in place for people being transferred from an acute setting into the community.
There is a requirement to engage in patient feedback, health and safety, complaints and concerns to name a few.
The service is city wide, therefore it is important to be able to make yourself available to travel across the city, to be visible to staff and on hand to support operationally day to day but also on an ad hog basis.
It is important that you have a flexible approach to work, the ability to priories when needed and to support the Operational Service Manager and deputise at meetings when required.
The role is 5 days over 7 days with some flexibility to working a 9 day fortnight.
