The role: Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Operational Planning Manager is responsible for forecasting, planning and allocating staff to deliver our programme schedule.
The role involves working closely with the academic and delivery teams to allocate staff and resources dynamically to ensure a high quality learning experience that is manageable, efficient and effective.
The Operational Planning Manager will also monitor and report on the performance and efficiency of the staff and the schedule, and identify and implement improvements and solutions.
Reports to: Director of Operations Responsibilities: Develop and maintain a comprehensive staff forecast and plan based on the programme schedule and the business needs.
Support Director of Operations with capacity planning requirements based on forecasting data and operational planning schedules Allocate staff to the programme schedule, taking into account their availability, skills, preferences and development opportunities.
Communicate the staff plan and any changes to the relevant stakeholders, and resolve any conflicts or issues.
Track and analyse the staff utilisation and provide regular reports and feedback to the management and the staff.
Identify and address any gaps, risks or challenges in the staff plan and the schedule, and propose and implement solutions and improvements.
Coordinate induction plans for new operational staff and gather feedback for improvements.
Conduct analysis on current workforce capability and develop required plan to meet policy and operational requirements.

Key Skills and qualifications: At least three years of experience in operational planning, staff scheduling, resource management or a similar role, preferably in the higher education industry.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills, and the ability to work with data and complex information.
Strong communication, collaboration and negotiation skills, and the ability to work effectively with different teams and stakeholders.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Familiarity with staff planning software is desirable but not essential.
Flexible, adaptable and resilient, and able to cope with changing priorities and deadlines.
Ability to work independently and under pressure, maintaining accuracy.
Excellent organisational and time-management abilities.
High levels of ownership and accountability A high level of attention to detail A team player.
