As the IT Developer you will be responsible for the development of specific applications, as well as be involved in projects as an applications developer, which will involve all aspects of applications development, ie.
Technical specification, development, documentation and unit testing.
Your key responsibilities as a residential paralegal would be:
Supervise, train or assist as appropriate all staff with whom the post holder may be working with from time to time, in accordance with the firm's policies and the department's procedures and in consultation with others as appropriate.
Direct and motivate the applications development team, giving clear direction and objectives during their projects to ensure that their goals can be achieved.
Involvement and co-ordination of standards for the applications development area, communication of these to all areas within and across Irwin Mitchell's IT and Business Change departments.
Working as part of a team to deliver quality development and design documentation, as agreed by the project and the standards in place.
Design and develop a wide range of different types of applications, from web enabled to client-server and legal modular systems covering all aspects of the platform (Database, Reporting, Interfaces, and 3rd Party Software).
Co-ordination of the technical design and build within the project environment to agreed standards and technical direction, ensuring that the final product meets the agreed scope.
Work very closely with business systems analysts, testers, trainers, project manager and the wider Business Solutions Group to ensure the project is delivered as effectively as possible.
Ensure "time boxing", prototyping and prioritisation techniques are followed to deliver their agreed products to time and budget.
Assume primary responsibility for the maintenance and technical development of Debttrac platform within Irwin Mitchell supported by other colleague as required and in line with ILR's overall IT strategy.
Candidate Requirements
Essential
Degree qualified
Attendance and certificated in Applications Development areas
Excellent knowledge of development tools, techniques and methods.
Excellent practical knowledge of leadership techniques.
Excellent knowledge of IT technical environments and issues.
Desirable
Relevant Applications Developer qualification.
Sector Specific
Essential
Use of VB, C#.NET, ASP, Business Objects Crystal Enterprise Reports, Case tools or a mixture
Proven experience in Applications Development
Proven experience in a position of similar responsibility and duties
Use of SQL Server or Oracle
Desirable
UML experience
Relevant use of DSDM
Data warehousing.
