UTS is a health and social care sector specialist provider, supporting organisations nationally with their training and skills development.
As as national provider, we are looking for trainers throughout the UK - please detail within your application: current location locations willing to travel to Job responsibilities Delivering engaging Oliver McGowan Tier 1 and Tier 2 training Sessions across arrange of organisations within the health and social care sector.
Effectively support experts with lived experience Co-trainers, ensuring they are fully included and supported in the delivery of the sessions, helping them to develop skills and confidence.
Provide reasonable adjustments to support individual needs of the training teams prior to, during and after training sessions.
Help to keep training participants and the training team safe and confident in their surroundings and act on safeguarding and health and safety concerns in line with organisation policies.
Understand and respond to a range of complex queries and challenges from delegates during training, identifying the correct response from the range of factual and most up to date material available.
The facilitating trainer will: Demonstrate positivity, recognising the strengths and abilities of individuals, including people with a learning disability and autistic people who are co-trainers, and learners.
Gain an understanding of the perspectives and personal references of each co-trainer with a learning disability and autistic co-trainer when co-facilitating, including reference to learners.
Be patient and really listen to what is being communicated by the expert by lived experience co-trainers, and learners.
Value and acknowledge the experience and expertise of people with a learning disability and autistic people, including learners.
Qualifications Essential criteria Educated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level in specialist area.
A relevant teaching qualification such as Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (DTLLS), Multi-professional support of learning and assessment in practice, or an equivalent.
Significant experience of proficient and successful delivery of face-to-face training in health and social care, or similar environment.
Experience delivering high quality services to people with a learning disability and autistic people in a professional role such as RNLD, OT or social worker, or can demonstrate an equivalent level of skills, knowledge and experience.
Knowledge and understanding of the learning cycle and its application.
Skills/experience required Clear communicator with excellent presentation skills; capable of constructing and delivering clear ideas and concepts concisely and accurately for diverse audiences.
Significant experience of proficient and successful delivery of face-to-face training in health and social care, or similar environment.
Has excellent up to date working knowledge of the fields of autism and learning disability and is familiar with current issues.
Knowledge and experience of a variety of learning and development methodologies and their application, in particular coaching, action learning, and facilitation.
Knowledge and understanding of the learning cycle and its application.
Experience delivering high quality services to people with a learning disability and autistic people in a professional role such as RNLD, OT or social worker, or can demonstrate an equivalent level of skills, knowledge and experience Why join us?
