Main duties of the job You will be HCPC registered, passionate about working with people with neurological conditions to support their rehabilitation, condition management and maximise their quality of life.
You'll work in partnership with residents and carers to set realistic goals and develop collaborative intervention plans, with regular reviews to monitor progress and adapt.
Working as a member of the transdisciplinary team, you'll ensure that high quality individualised care is delivered, which ensures safety and a commitment to promoting recovery, wellbeing, and maximising independence/quality of life.
Job responsibilities As an Occupational Therapist, you will be: Completing neurological assessments, treatment planning and interventions Providing rehabilitation interventions to improve function and independence with ADLs Conducting cognitive assessment/rehabilitation Utilizing therapeutic handling skills Assessing environment and equipment needs including specialist seating Identifying ongoing needs whilst maximising quality of life Liaising with community colleagues to facilitate complex discharge planning Evaluating outcomes aligned to care plans Supervising Occupational Therapy support staff and students Implementing and developing evidence-based therapeutic activities Where you will be working Location : The Avalon Centre, Edison Park Hindle Way, Swindon, Wiltshire, SN3 3RT You will be working at The Avalon Centre, a purpose-built neurological centre for men and women over the age of 18 years, who have an acquired brain injury.
The centre has been designed specifically to support people who, because of their injury, have challenging and complex needs and require a neurobehavioral rehabilitation programme.

Person Specification Qualifications HCPC registered Occupational Therapist with experience in managing a designated caseload using knowledge of relevant Occupational Therapy theory.
