Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen, and we are looking to appoint a committed, highly motivated, enthusiastic, and skilled Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic CAMHS-LD Team.This post requires the holder, as a member of the Multi-Disciplinary Community Based Team, to maintain a caseload and to lead and undertake specialist evidence-base occupational therapy assessments and interventions for young people and their families as part of the CAMHS-Learning Disabilities and CDC Team across Southampton.
Main duties of the job You will be expected to undertake direct clinical work, in the form of individual, family and group, that demonstrates a high level of skill in supporting the child/young person and their family where severe, complex and often longstanding difficulties are present.
Alongside our services aims which are to improve the quality of life for young people with learning disabilities and their families through helping them participate fully in education, social activities and family life and manage the difficulties associated with having or being part of a family where a child has a learning disability.
In addition to minimise the intensity, frequency, duration and impact of challenging behaviour and mental health difficulties in children and young people with learning disabilities.The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues from other services and agencies to promote joint working.
To assist in training across sectors and agencies as appropriate.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential *Nationally recognised core qualification in Occupational Therapist *Professional Qualification at first degree level or equivalent Experience Essential *Experience of working with a wide variety of people with learning disabilities and their families or carers and with presenting problems that reflect the full range of clinical severity.
*Experience of completing occupational therapy assessment, developing care plans and providing interventions to young people with a learning disability.
*Post qualifying experience of working as an occupational therapist *Experience of teaching and or training other professionals and/or carers.
*Experience of liaising, joint working, supporting, and consulting with other agencies.
Networking abilities convening and chairing meetings.
