Occupational Therapist- Frailty Intervention Team

Job overview We are looking for a dynamic, forward thinking, enthusiastic experienced Band or Band Occupational Therapist with a specialist interest in frailty to join our Frailty Intervention team (FIT).
FIT are a supportive and friendly integrated Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy team working in the Emergency Department and Emergency Assessment Unit (EAU).You will need to have solid experience and sound knowledge of a range of common pathologies, aging, falls and frailty and ability to apply your knowledge from several disciplines including neurology, trauma, musculoskeletal and respiratory areas.
You will need to have high levels of professionalism and strong communication skills to work effectively in this role as part of the multidisciplinary team.As part of FIT you will work in a blended role; assessing and identifying needs through comprehensive assessments of older adults and deliver interventions to help with admission avoidance within the Emergency Department and EAU.You will be actively encouraged to participate in CPD, audit, service development and supervision and teaching of junior staff the wider MDT including students from Coventry and Oxford Brookes Universities.

Main duties of the job · To provide high quality, safe and effective therapy services to patients in the Emergency Department and Emergency Assessment Unit, including those with highly complex presentations, as part of a multi-professional team.· To work collaboratively with patients and their carers to effectively assess and implement the rapid deployment of admission avoidance services.· To supervise and teach recently registered professionals, support workers, therapy students and members of the MDT· To actively participate in quality improvement, clinical audit and research projects within the Frailty Intervention Team (FIT).· To take an active part in the team's extended hours and seven-day working roster to maximise the access and delivery of the service Working for our organisation Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest NHS teaching trusts in the country.
