Job summary The Occupational Health department at East Sussex Healthcare is an in-house service providing care to the organisations are a SEQOHS accredited service, and are proud of providing safe, effective and quality care to those using our are a modern and dynamic OH service, which is quick to respond to the ever changing demands of the NHS locally and the NHS workforce including items on the national agenda such as 'Growing OH'.The service continually evolves and improves, always having an eye on the horizon to ensure that we best meet the requirements of our ESHT people.
Main duties of the job We are looking for an experienced Nurse to participate support the service in its delivery of core OH activities such as absence management within our Case Management function, pre-employment health screening and provision of Occupational Health related advice and guidance.
Ideally applicants need to already hold an Occupational Health qualification, however consideration may be given if a candidate has transferable skills, as the service offers a mixture of local inhouse training and nationally accredited training.
We provide a supportive environment for learning and encourage the specialist community public health nursing to be completed if not previously completed.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential Current registered Nurse qualification and registration with the NMC Evidence of post-registration qualification / training in Occupational Health or a relevant specialist field, or proven equivalent experience Evidence of continued professional development to diploma level of equivalent knowledge and experience Desirable Counselling qualification or relevant talking therapy qualification Leadership qualification Recognised qualification in health surveillance Experience Essential Post registration experience of working as an RN in Occupational Health or related field.
Experience of delivering immunisations and performing phlebotomy (applicable to certain applicants only ie RN) Experience of working in Occupational Health or related area where supporting clients with Health needs within the work arena is the focus Experience of carrying a caseload of clients experiencing health issues within the work arena, planning, implementing and delivering their care Ability to maintain accurate and complete records and reports Evidence of effective report writing and conducting workplace risk assessments Competent in using Microsoft Office software for storing / Retrieving data Experience of working independently and as part of a team Desirable Previous experience of :- Health Promotion/Education Health & Safety Sight Testing Audiometry Lung Function Testing & Evaluation or health surveillance experience.
