The Oxfordshire CAMHS Getting More Help (GMH) team provides a community service to children and adolescents who are experiencing mental illness, those who may require a formulation of ongoing difficulties, using multiple evidence-based interventions.Our service is currently developing, and we are recruiting for a number of new roles.
The post will be based in Oxford South GMH, a team with a reputation for being creative, innovative, forward thinking, dynamic and research led.
The wellbeing of staff is top of the agenda, and a strong ethos of collaboration, shared reflection and team working.
Whilst this post is the first in the South GMH team, the North GMH team already has a similar post, with whom the post holder will be working closely with.
We are looking for someone with existing or transferable experience/skills and a passion to work with children and young people with complex difficulties, to improve service quality and empower recovery.
The successful applicant will be enthusiastic, self-motivated, flexible, creative to find solutions, an excellent communicator and leader, and with good organisational skills.
Main duties of the job Using your clinical expertise, you will provide help and support to patients with complex presentations, and adopt a lead role in the provision of evidence-based interventions and/or support the wider professional network with understanding the young person's presentation, and adhere to care plans.You will be expected to exercise autonomous clinical responsibility for the assessment and formulation, treatment and discharge of patients in the service; whilst being embedded within a diverse multidisciplinary team.
The role will enable you to offer professional leadership and expert advice, consultancy and supervision to support the work of colleagues providing care and treatment.
You will also liaise with members of other disciplines and agencies responsible for client care.

Person specification Qualifications Essential criteria Registered Mental Health Nurse, with current registrationEducated to degree levelAdvanced clinical skills in the relevant specialtyCompletion of evidence-based interventions for eating disorders across the age rangeContinuing registration with body overseeing practice of core mental health profession, e.g., NMC Desirable criteria Non-medical prescribing qualification, willingness to work towardsLeadership training/qualification.
Knoweldge and Experience Essential criteria Post graduate training in and experience of evidence-based interventions in CAMHSEvidence of contribution to policy, protocols, and patient care pathway developmentFormal management skills and experienceEvidence of involvement in innovative practice or service developmentsFormal leadership skills and experience Desirable criteria Published papers.Involvement in Quality Improvement and or Research Experience Essential criteria Experience of mentoring and clinical supervision of othersExperience of teaching, facilitating and formal training course All new starters have a thorough induction process, both local and Trust wide, which aims to create a positive supportive working environment allowing new employees to learn key elements of their role over a reasonable timescale.Appointment to this post is subject to the trust receiving satisfactory references covering 3 years of employment or study.
