Job summary The postholder is an experienced nurse, who acting within their professionalboundaries, will provide care, screening and health promotion information forthe presenting patient.
They will demonstrate safe, clinical decision-makingand expert care for patients within the general practice.
They will work collaboratively with themulti-disciplinary general practice team to meet the needs of patients,supporting the delivery of policy and procedures.
They will continue to followtheir current job description and in addition to this will be expected to provide lead and manage educational nurse programmes across the PrimaryCare Network.
The role will willdeveop, provide and faciliate effective nursing education and completency basedtraining for Nurses Student Nurses, other Nurses in training The post holder will also provide line management support forthe nursing team including one to one supervisions and annual appraisals.
They will also offer specialist knowledge tosupport organisation strategy, recruitment, retention and workforce planning.
Main duties of the job Establish, review, and develop operationaleducation provision for the nurses and support the provision of education forhealthcare workers across the organisations.To review and develop the annual Nursing Teameducation, training and development plans and provide opportunities forinternal development of the whole nursing team.Ensure clinical standards of care are evidencebased and compliant with regulatory guidance including CQC and NMC code of conduct.Ensure professional standards, training andeducation are in line with local and national policies.To plan and maximize opportunities to deliverwork-based learning for student nurses, nursing team and alliance practicenursing staff.Develop, maintain, and implement a competency-basedframeworks for all areas of clinical practice.Show an awareness of your own capabilities andareas for improvement.Share knowledge, skills and experience andwork collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders.Provide guidance in the induction andorientation programmes of all new Nursing Team members.Act as a role model, promoting excellence ofpractice through education, leadership, advice and support.
Create an environment to support inter andmulti-professional working and learning in practice.Inspire others to recognize the value ofeducation which underpins and takes the practice forward.Enable junior staff to develop their knowledgeand skills through support and education in the clinical area.

care when working in the clinical setting as well as delivering care whilst training other staff in their delegated role and supporting staff to deliver patient care.Promote evidence-based practice through the use of the latest research-based guidelines and the development of practice-based research.Monitor the effectiveness of their own clinical practice through the quality assurance strategies Evidence of planning, implementing and evaluating education and development programmes for staff and students Demonstrates good presentation and facilitation skills Qualifications Essential Registered General Nurse (Currently registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council) Recognised PN qualification at minimum of degree level or equivalent Desirable Recognised teaching and assessing qualification Preparation for Mentorship / Support Learning in Practice qualification or equivalent Experience Essential Significant post registration experience Evidence of clinical and professional expertise underpinned by knowledge acquired through CPD Ability to apply audit and evidence-based nursing practice Evidence of working autonomously and as part of a team Proven ability to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of their own clinical practice Understanding and knowledge of policy developments related to the delivery of primary care services in General Practice, the GMS/PMS contract, Clinical Governance, Quality & Outcomes Framework Knowledge of national standards that inform practice ( National Service Frameworks, NICE guidelines etc.)
