If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our dedicated team as a Numeracy Support Assistant at a welcoming primary school in Preston.
Role Overview: As a Numeracy Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the mathematical skills of children in Key Stage 2 (ages 7-11).
Working closely with class teachers, you will provide targeted support in areas such as arithmetic, problem-solving, and mathematical reasoning.
Your efforts will be crucial in helping students build confidence and competence in numeracy.
Key Responsibilities: - Assist students in developing numeracy skills through one-on-one and small group sessions.
- Support teachers in delivering engaging and effective mathematics lessons.
- Monitor and assess students' progress, providing feedback and adjusting support strategies as needed.
- Create a positive and encouraging learning environment, helping students to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.
- Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to ensure consistent and integrated numeracy support across the curriculum.
Requirements: - Experience working with children, ideally within an educational setting.
- A good understanding of numeracy development in Key Stage 2.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate young learners.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards helping children succeed.
- Relevant qualifications or experience in education, teaching assistance, or mathematics are desirable.
