An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Data Manager to join the Neuroscience Research Unit at Cardiff and Vale UHB.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job Responsibility for day-to-day management of procedural and financial data associated with the research unit. To produce accurate and timely reports to assist in monitoring of research activity, invoicing, and expenditure against clinical trial activity. To act as a point of liaison with internal and external agencies in respect of a variety of standard and ad-hoc reports.
Person specification Qualifications Educated to degree level or equivalent experience. Recognised IT qualification e.g. ECDL. Experience Relevant experience in a data collection/analysis environment. Production of accurate, complex reports to strict deadlines. Experience within an information role. Knowledge of principles of general management. Experience in the NHS clinical or research sector to include NHS IT. Skills Experience in Microsoft Outlook, PMS, Oracle, Clinical Workstation, Clinical Portal. Verbal & written communication skills along with excellent organisational skills. Special Knowledge Competent in the use of IM&T tools & techniques. Knowledge of Microsoft Operating systems & Office programs. Extensive knowledge & first-hand experience of design & maintenance of complex database systems. Knowledge of GDPR. Understanding of GCP requirements. Personal Qualities Evidence of continuous professional development & acquiring new skills/knowledge. Motivated & committed. Ability to work as part of a team. Effective interpersonal skills. Flexible & able to meet deadlines. Able to maintain strict confidentiality in a sensitive clinical area. Prepared to undertake new challenges.
