NPD BOM Cost AnalystAny UK Site *This is an Internal opportunity only*You have a responsibility to inform your current line/department manager and local human resources representative before applying for the role.POSITION SUMMARY:We are seeking a detail-oriented individual to support the successful introduction of New Product Development (NPD) projects by analysing and controlling material costs to meet target requirements.
Sitting within our Procurement Team, the role requires working as part of cross-functional teams to influence designs and supplier choices, ensuring robust material cost tracking, and providing accurate cost estimates.
Key skills include data analysis, influencing, ERP expertise, and strong Excel proficiency.
A background in manufacturing, procurement, or engineering and a relevant degree (ideally in Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields) is essential.WHAT YOU WILL DO: Live and role model the company Values and culture at all times.
Working as part of cross functional NPD Project Teams from the outset to, challenge and influence designs, supplier selections to ensure cost targets are met The control of all material cost movements to target through design phase, ensuring any movements remain within acceptable levels and comply with the correct approval and sign-off process To ensure accurate and robust material costs tracking for identified NPD projects to enable original costing assumptions to be monitored against latest forecasts and actuals.
To support the construction of Cost of Production estimates for NPD projects by providing the latest material cost information Analysis of Bills of Material to identify discrepancies between component costs across vehicle variants and to investigate the validity for reasons behind any deltas WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL: Excellent data analysis and reporting skills Drive, focus and determination to eliminate unnecessary cost Ability to influence outcomes through communication, influencing & problem solving Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
Thorough knowledge and experience of product BOM structures and classifications Thorough knowledge and experience of ERP systems in a manufacturing environment Excellent Excel user skills and experience Several years' experience in a manufacturing, Procurement or Engineering environment Ideally Degree level educated or equivalent (ideally in Mathematics or Statistics) or ideally in a Procurement or Engineering capacity OUR WHY: We move people.
