Specializing in residential and buy to let mortgages, you will be responsible for packaging, underwriting and approving new mortgage applications for a variety of first and second charge and Buy to Let lending products.
Duties of the Underwriter (Residential and Buy to Let Mortgages) to include: - Review and approve both residential and buy-to-let (BTL) mortgage applications.
- Underwrite and approve new mortgage applications for a variety of first / second change lending products.
- Efficiently manage an assigned pipeline of applications, ensuring smooth progression from submission to completion.
- Oversee new applications, manage incoming correspondence, and handle pre-submission inquiries within established service standards.
- Make informed lending decisions that align with Credit Risk Policy and individual authority levels.
- Evaluate applications holistically, considering the overall customer outcome and needs.
- Maintain adherence to internal underwriting policies and meet regulatory obligations, including FCA, PRA, Anti-Money Laundering, Financial Crime Prevention, and Data Protection.
- Engage with a pre-selected panel of Introducers to provide prompt, accurate, and consistent underwriting decisions.
- Support management by participating in project-based work and completing ad-hoc tasks as needed.
- Deliver quality underwriting decisions that foster performing loans and positive customer outcomes.
- Cultivate and sustain productive business relationships with an assigned group of Introducers.
Requirements for the successful Underwriting (Property Finance): - Previous experience in underwriting, credit assessment or lending is essential and candidates should have experience with residential and Buy to Let mortgages.
