0.8WTE (29.6 hours) Band 7 NeurosciencesChildren and Young Peoples Physiotherapy Service RHCYP EdinburghWe are looking for a creative, innovative physiotherapist to join our neurology/oncology inpatient team as clinical lead for neurosciences.
This is an opportunity to work in collaboration with experienced physiotherapists across all specialties including MSK, Major Trauma, Spinal Surgery, Respiratory, Critical Care and community as well as with the wider multi-disciplinary team to develop knowledge and skills within a children and young people setting.
You will join a team who predominantly deliver inpatient rehabilitation services to infants, children and young people up to 16 years admitted under the combined medical and surgical neurosciences team.
This team specialises in the diagnosis and management of a range of childhood neurological conditions and disorders including epilepsy, motor disorders, neuromuscular disorders, acquired brain injury and CNS tumours.
In addition, RHCYP is a regional Paediatric Major Trauma Centre as well as delivering the Scottish Paediatric Epilepsy Surgery and National Spine Service.
This post is largely based within the inpatient setting, with some outpatients as required to meet the needs of the children and young people.
We are looking for a physiotherapist with relevant clinical experience across a range of specialties who is passionate about delivering safe, effective person-centred care by working in partnership with children, young people and their families.
Experience working with children and young people in healthcare settings is preferred.
This post would suit someone who has a keen interest in the clinical area and is committed to life-long learning to develop themselves and others to ensure ongoing service development to meet the needs of service users.
There is also opportunity to contribute to the wider Scottish specialist service networks.
