NHS Lothian Oral Health Service(Public Dental Service)Dental Therapist VacancyPermanent part-time position 3 days per week (22.5 hrs)(AFC) Band 6 (£39,912 - £48,635 pro-rata)Due to staff retiral NHS Lothians Oral Health Service are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic and motivated Dental Therapist to join the Oral Health Service team in here in Lothian.The role of the PDS includes providing dental care for priority group patients, such as vulnerable adult patients who require additional support, referred children with anxiety, working within the prison service, and within the hospital sites with patients with complex medical histories and the oncology service and the successful applicant must be able to work anywhere in Lothian.Working within well-equipped surgeries in Edinburgh or the surrounding areas, you will enjoy access to excellent facilities as well as the professional support of highly qualified colleagues.
Previous experience of working with these patient groups although advantageous, is not always necessary.
There are opportunities for professional development through the diversity of the patient base, as well as a robust induction programme and through the support of the existing experienced and friendly team.
An ability to evidence a genuine interest in a high standard of patient care is essential and applicants should have a recognised Dental Therapy qualification, also be GDC registered, and have knowledge of the GDC Scope of Practice for Dental Therapists in addition to a working familiarity with the GDC Standards for the Dental Team.
