THE ROLE Working in an incredibly fast paced environment with high expectations we are looking for an inspirational and passionate npd/product/project manager to manage the development and introduction of new product concepts and product upgrades from concept through to market by utilising strong project management skills for an exciting new license just taken on by Heathcote & Ivory.
This brand is crucial part of their long-term strategic growth.
You will be responsible for developing products from the outset You must be very well organised and able to convey requirements to our factories in the UK and Asia.
You will be expected to deliver  exciting, products, generating growth across the business whilst developing excellent relationships internally and maintaining key relationships externally with suppliers and licensors.
In addition to commercialism, professionalism, attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines are crucial for the effectiveness of the role.
You must be used to working on several projects at the same time.
Attention to detail and good communication skills required.
Role and Responsibilities ·      Create and develop commercially viable concepts ·      Initiate and implement creative and market driven product stories which provide a distinctive competitive advantage ·      Project manage relevant developments from concept, brief and to launch.
Develop critical path time lines for all relevant projects and ensure successful completion.
·      Sourcing new packaging and review of trends, managing external agency activities where necessary.
(Design, printing etc).
·      Understand retail and consumer environment by visiting stores with Sales Managers on a regular basis.
Report back interesting findings to team and management if appropriate ·      Carry out or supervise all administration duties relevant to this role ·      Responsible for the planning, management and tracking of project budgets and cost constraints ·      Responsibility for target costing and commercial feasibility and viability for new projects ·      Budgetary controls primarily for artworks ·      Pro-actively solve problems relating to design, development and production ·      Daily liaison with far east teams to ensure projects are on track ·      Develop strong relationship with licensors for on-going new product development, monitoring and reporting on activities to both the licensor and internally.
·      Input into in-store communications and various marketing initiatives ·      Present product programme in such a way as to motivate sales force and provide them with all appropriate tools to sell to the retailers.
·      Respond to and follow up enquiries from, sales team, buying team, operations team, PR and finance team.
·      Respond to and follow up enquiries from key accounts and distributors as required.
Preferred Skills Full project management and competent with the new product development cycle Commercial understanding, competency with margins and how cost of good affect RSP's.
Excellent English and numerical skills essential Excellent excel, word and Powerpoint skills essential Design software skills advantageous Attention to detail essential with technical packaging experience preferred.
Problem solver, especially being able to 'think outside of the box' Ability to take responsibility for a wide range of tasks as per job description Team player Work experience requirements ·      Three  or more years experience within similar product development role ·      Project management experience essential ·      Previous experience within the beauty category, with toiletries experience advantageous ·      Experience with the Garden Centre, Gift shop distribution channels advantageous ·      Far east sourcing and development experience advantageous Education Requirements ·        Minimum A-level education, English, maths and science  ·        Marketing or business degree advantageous
