Ideally, applicants should have a strong background in Power Networks with experience in either power systems analysis, scripting in a related language such as Python, electricity network regulation, cost benefit analysis or management and delivery of network innovation projects.
This position is for a mid-level consultant with around 2-5 years of relevant experience who can help us deliver our pipeline of network innovation projects, as well as contributing to developing and winning further projects.
This will involve delivery of the various aspects of network innovation projects, for example including research and literature reviews, excel modelling, stakeholder engagement, power systems studies and cost benefit analysis, as well as reporting.
However, depending on the skills and interests of the individual there will also likely be opportunities to support a wider range of projects within Blake Clough's portfolio.
You will also be responsible for the line management and leadership of more junior staff as the business grows.
In fact, you will be tasked with growing a high performing team of power systems engineers and will be responsible for winning and delivering projects for that team.
The IndividualThe following capabilities and experience are desired for this role:
2-5 years' experience within the electricity networks industry.Master's degree or higher in a relevant engineering subject.Strong background in two or three of the required capabilities, for example conducting research, excel modelling, stakeholder engagement or cost benefit analysis.Scripting experience, e.g.
Python or DIgSILENT DSL.Experience in managing projects, or aspects of projects.Strong data analytical skills.Detailed understanding of electricity networks and the challenges faced by Network Operators and their various stakeholders and customers.Excellent report writing skills.Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with others.Client focussed with the ability to manage and grow positive relationship with demanding clients.Innovative mindset with the ability to problem solve and identify creative solutions to challenging problems.Base LocationWe currently have offices in Central London, Glasgow and West Yorkshire, although many of our consultants work flexibly from remote locations.
