We are currently recruiting for an entrepreneurial Grocery NAM to drive distribution and visibility of an exciting challenger brand.
This role involves managing grocery customers, driving sales, and building solid, strategic relationships.
The successful candidate will also be instrumental in securing new accounts and expanding distribution in the grocery sector.
Key Responsibilities: P&L Management: Full accountability for customer P&L, with regular performance tracking against budget, risk identification, and corrective action as needed.
Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong, lasting relationships with key accounts to drive sustainable growth.
Sales & Marketing Strategy: Design and implement tailored sales and marketing plans for each account to achieve sales and profitability targets.
Data Utilisation: Leverage insights to enhance category role and optimize merchandising and activation strategies.
New Product Launches: Lead the activation of new product development (NPD) in key accounts, in collaboration with the Marketing Team.
Market Analysis: Track market trends, monitor competitor activities, and assess customer feedback to identify growth opportunities.
Reporting: Prepare and deliver regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and account updates to the Head of Sales.
Negotiation: Manage contract and pricing negotiations to ensure profitability and sustainable partnerships.
Forecasting: Develop precise sales forecasts and report on progress against targets.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including marketing, supply chain, and customer service.
Ideal Candidate Profile: Experience: Minimum of 4 years in grocery National Account Management.
Data-Driven: Proficient in interpreting data to develop strategic account plans.
Sales Acumen: Proven track record of achieving sales targets by expanding new business while growing existing accounts.
Negotiation & Commercial Skills: Strong negotiation abilities and commercial understanding.
Analytical: Numerically astute with strong Excel skills.
Proven Background: Successful experience as a NAM selling branded food & drink products to major UK grocers.
Self-Starter: Ready to take initiative, work independently, and adapt quickly.
Private/Own Label Experience: Beneficial but not essential.
